At SuperDatesMw, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it for users in Malawi and the diaspora.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

a) Information you provide: Phone number (for SMS and WhatsApp OTP verification), Display name, age, gender, location (city / country), Profile photos, bio, interests, Messages and chats with other users, Optional: ID verification documents if requested

b) Information collected automatically: Device information (phone model, OS, app version), IP address and approximate location, Login time, pages visited, likes and matches, OTP delivery status (whether SMS or WhatsApp OTP was sent / delivered)
c) Payment information: When you pay via Airtel Money, TNM Mpamba, or Visa / Mastercard, we collect transaction reference, amount, and payment status. We do NOT store your full card number, Airtel Money or Mpamba PIN. Payment processing is handled by our secure payment partners.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use your data to:

a) Create and verify your account via SMS or WhatsApp OTP

b) Show your profile to other singles and suggest matches

c) Enable chat, likes, video calls, and premium features

d) Process payments for premium subscriptions

e) Detect and prevent fraud, fake accounts, scams, and money requests

f) Send you OTPs, safety alerts, match notifications, and support messages via SMS, WhatsApp, or email

g) Improve our platform and user experience

h) Comply with Malawi laws

WHAT WE SHOW TO OTHER USERS

Public: Display name, age, city/country, photos, bio, interests, online status.

Private and never shown: Phone number, email address, OTP codes, payment details, ID documents. Your phone number is hidden unless you choose to share it in chat.

4. SHARING OF INFORMATION

We do NOT sell your personal data. We may share data only with:

a) Service providers: SMS/WhatsApp gateway to send OTP, payment providers to process Airtel Money, TNM Mpamba and Visa payments, and cloud hosting provider to store data securely.

b) Legal authorities: If required by Malawi law, court order, or to investigate fraud, abuse, or safety threats.

c) With your consent: If you choose to share your contact with another user. All service providers are required to keep your data secure and confidential.

DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY
Your data is stored securely with encryption and hosted on secure servers. Photos are stored securely and access is restricted. OTP codes are encrypted and automatically deleted after verification or expiry. Payment details are handled through PCI-compliant providers. We do not store your PIN or full card details.
Despite our efforts, no system is 100% secure. Please keep your phone and OTP secure.

6. DIASPORA USERS

If you are using SuperDatesMw from outside Malawi (South Africa, UK, USA, Zambia, etc.), your data will be processed and stored in Malawi and in Malawi Currency (MWK). By using the platform, you consent to this transfer and processing.

7. DATA RETENTION
We keep your account data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account in Settings > Delete Account, your profile, photos, and chats will be permanently deleted within 24 hours. We may retain transaction records and abuse reports for some time for legal and fraud prevention purposes as required by Malawi law.

8. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to:

a) Access and view your personal data in the app

b) Update or correct your profile information

c) Delete your account and data anytime

d) Request a copy of your data by emailing use

10. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

SuperDatesMw is strictly for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will delete their account and data immediately.

Our platform may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

12. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you via SMS, WhatsApp, or email. Continued use after notification means you accept the updated policy.
